The Washington Nationals called up Victor Robles, their top minor league prospect, for the first time this season on Tuesday before a game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Robles, a 21-year-old outfielder, is the No. 5 ranked prospect in baseball according to MLBPipeline.com and ranked No. 6 by Baseball America.
Robles has been playing for Triple-A Syracuse, but this will not be his first time wearing a Washington uniform. He played in 13 games for the Nationals in September 2017 and had six hits in 24 at-bats, including two triples, a double and four RBI.
The Nationals (69-69) also recalled infielder Adrian Sanchez and right-handed pitcher Austin Voth from Syracuse among other roster moves.
