Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reportedly agreed to testify after being requested by House leadership on Friday.
CNN first reported that Mr. Rosenstein agreed to background meeting to address reports of him talking about wearing a wire to secretly record President Trump and discussed invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.
Mr. Meadows, North Carolina Republican, tweeted that the GOP leadership agreed to bring Mr. Rosenstein, so he can “explain his alleged comments on POTUS — as well as other inconsistent statements.”
He threatened to subpoena the deputy attorney general if he does not arrive.

If Mr. Rosenstein fails to show up, we will subpoena him.
Earlier this week, Mr. Meadows and Rep. Matt Gaetz, Florida Republican, threatened to introduce impeachment proceedings against Mr. Rosenstein should he refuse to testify.
Scrutiny on Mr. Rosenstein ramped up after The New York Times reported his alleged attempts to spy on or remove the president.
Mr. Rosenstein has denied the report and said it was a sarcastic comment.
Mr. Trump and his deputy attorney general were scheduled to meet on Thursday about the report, but the meeting was rescheduled for some time next week.
