BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Donald Trump Jr. urged Bozeman residents to send Republican Matt Rosendale to the U.S. Senate because he will support the president’s agenda.

Trump Jr. said Tuesday that “we need people who will fight with my father because he’s done a lot of great things.”

Rosendale, the state auditor, is challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Tester. Rosendale told a gathering at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds that he represents Montana values and “will stand with” President Donald Trump.

Tester’s campaign has portrayed Rosendale as an out-of-state real estate developer. Spokesman Luke Jackson said Trump Jr.’s visit brought in “another out-of-state developer.”

The Bozeman rally marked Trump Jr.’s second campaign visit on behalf of Rosendale.

President Trump has visited Montana twice and Vice President Mike Pence plans a second visit on Oct. 2 in Bozeman.
