CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A program that helps businesses increase exports and better reach foreign markets is getting a funding boost.
The Small Business Administration has awarded $250,000 to the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development through the State Trade Expansion Program, or STEP.
U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who helped create the STEP pilot program in 2010, announced the new funding. She says it is a critical tool that has helped New Hampshire businesses expand their workforce and reach into the international marketplace.
Officials say the money has allowed companies to participate in export training programs and international trade shows that have raised the state’s profile around the world.
