Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz only played 14 games in his rookie season as he battled both an injury and a bizarre loss of shooting form that had the entire city worried.

Now the 2017 first overall draft pick might finally be back. A video published by The Players’ Tribune shows off Fultz, a Maryland native and DeMatha High School grad, practicing his jumper and sinking shot after shot.

“People really didn’t understand,” Fultz said in the video. “They thought like, ’Man, he’s just being soft.’ But it was really an injury, and now I got a chance to just sit down and pick apart all these doctors.

“We figured it out, and I’ve been back to work this summer and everything’s back to even better than what it was,” he said.

With LeBron James’ move west out of Cleveland, teams such as the Washington Wizards that want to win the Eastern Conference mainly have to worry about the 76ers and the Boston Celtics. The Wizards only have to play Philadelphia three times in the regular season because they play in different divisions.

But adding a healthy Fultz to a team that grabbed the conference’s third seed last year only makes them more formidable.
