Washington Wizards point guard John Wall joined fellow NBA stars Steph Curry and Chris Paul Wednesday in launching a fundraiser for hurricane relief in North Carolina, where the three players are from.
Please join myself, @CP3 and @JohnWall supporting our home state of North Carolina and the surrounding area in #HurricaneFlorence recovery efforts! A lot of work to do and any amount helps those in the area get back on their feet quickly. https://t.co/RRdmxWFiJu

The trio have posted a goal of $500,000, and as of Thursday morning a little more than $50,000 has been raised.
“Donations to Assist for Hurricane Florence will be used to support relief efforts throughout the Carolinas by providing assistance to organizations on the ground impacting the community,” the website reads.
Wall hails from Raleigh, North Carolina. Paul grew up in Winston-Salem and Curry is from the Charlotte area.
Hurricane Florence’s death total has climbed to 37 people as well as untold numbers of animals. The worst-hit parts, especially the city of Wilmington and other points on the coast, received three feet of rain.
