CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A program that helps students earn college credit while working has hit a milestone.
The New Hampshire Department of Labor says the 500th student in New Hampshire has completed a registered apprenticeship through a program in which community colleges work with employers in health care, manufacturing and other industries. The program involves both state and federal labor departments and the state Department of Education, and apprenticeships run from one to six years.
New Hampshire has 3,000 active participants, including nearly 1,000 that joined just this year.
