MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An explosion and fire has injured two employees at a manufacturer in southeast Minneapolis.

The fire broke out Wednesday at Metal-Matic Inc., a company that makes carbon steel tubes. Firefighters were called to the explosion around 2:45 p.m. and quickly put out a small fire.

The Minneapolis Fire Department says two employees were taken to a hospital with significant injuries. All other occupants safely evacuated the building.

No firefighters were hurt. The Fire Department says the explosion apparently happened in one of the dust collectors. The cause is under investigation.
