Kirk Cousins faced off with Aaron Rodgers in the Minnesota Vikings-Green Bay Packers rivalry for the first time Sunday, leading his side to an improbable comeback — and an improbable result.

Cousins brought the Vikings down the field late in regulation to score a touchdown and two-point conversion to force the game into overtime. He had a chance to be even more of a hero if the Vikings won in OT — but a missed field goal at the last second meant the Vikings and Packers tied at 29, the second tie in the NFL in two weeks.

Cousins completed a touchdown pass to Adam Thielen that looked doomed in between two Green Bay defenders.

On the game-tying two-point conversion, he found Stefon Diggs on a fade route to the corner of the end zone.

In the final 3:48 of overtime, Cousins took the Vikings 63 yards from their own 20 well into field goal range. But as time ran out, rookie kicker Daniel Carlson missed the would-be game-winner from 35 yards.

Still, at 1-0-1, the Vikings have not yet lost a game in the Kirk Cousins era.
