ASHBURN — Redskins wide receiver Paul Richardson missed practice Friday with a shoulder injury and is questionable Sunday for the team’s home opener against the Indianapolis Colts.
Coach Jay Gruden said Richardson has been dealing with an “AC joint issue” and aggravated the injury further against the Arizona Cardinals by landing on it.
“I’m not overly concerned about it for this week,” Gruden said, later adding, “It’s kind of been bothering him for some time.”
Richardson, who signed a five-year, $40 million deal with the Redskins in free agency, caught four passes for 22 yards in Week 1. If Richardson plays, Gruden said he doesn’t expect the wideout to be limited, but added they would “play it by ear.”
Earlier this week, the Redskins put wideouts Cam Sims and Trey Quinn on injured reserve after the two underwent ankle surgery, leaving Washington thin at the position. The franchise re-signed Brian Quick, who was initially cut in September, and promoted Jehu Chesson from the practice squad.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Maurice Harris (concussion) will be questionable Sunday. Harris, who has missed the last month with the injury, told reporters he participated in team drills this week and is feeling better.

The Redskins are awaiting one last medical clearance for Harris to play against the Colts, Gruden said.
“I’m cleared from the protocol, but it’s just more about how I’m feeling and if I’m 100 percent,” Harris said. “It’s up to the coaches, so I’ll let them handle it. I just go out there and do everything I can.”
Rookie safety Troy Apke was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
