ST. LOUIS (AP) - U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri believes Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh will be confirmed by the time the court convenes in October, and is unconcerned about the revelation that the FBI has been notified about something related to the nominee.
The Republican spoke Friday at the Missouri Press Association meeting in suburban St. Louis and called Kavanaugh “a great jurist.”
Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein has notified federal investigators about information she received - but won’t disclose publicly- that relates to Kavanaugh. A Senate Democratic aide and another person familiar with the matter say it refers to an incident that happened while Kavanaugh was high-school age.
Blunt told the press association gathering that he doesn’t “have much comment on people’s high school behavior.”
