NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Newark’s Grammy museum will host an exhibit honoring hometown favorite Whitney Houston beginning next month.
The exhibit at the Grammy Museum Experience at Newark’s Prudential Center arena will feature Houston’s childhood Bible and various stage costumes along with scrapbooks, rare photographs and footage from her family’s collection.
The items will be on display through June.
The six-time Grammy winner died in 2012, on the eve of the Grammy awards, after being discovered unresponsive in a hotel bathtub. She was 48.
Her funeral at Newark’s New Hope Baptist Church was attended by numerous celebrities including Stevie Wonder, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey and Kevin Costner.
The Grammy museum at Prudential Center opened in October 2017.
