Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson is not expected to miss games with a shoulder injury he suffered Monday night against the New Orleans Saints, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.
Peterson was scheduled to have an MRI Tuesday, and Pelissero said he will get a second opinion just to be sure.
#Redskins RB Adrian Peterson has a strained shoulder and will get a second opinion, but it’s not expected to keep him from playing, source said. Tough dude.

Peterson said the injury occurred near the end of the first half, when he was hit while running a receiving route in the flat.
“I just popped it back in and braced it up at halftime,” Peterson told reporters. “I got back in there.”
The Redskins will need Peterson back as soon as possible. Running back Chris Thompson suffered a rib injury in the game as well. Samaje Perine was inactive for the game, leading to inexperienced depth option Kapri Bibbs getting more snaps than usual. Washington totaled just 39 rushing yards on the night, as the Redskins fell behind early and had to stick to the passing game most of the way.
