Hope Hicks, former White House communications director, was named chief communications officer for Fox on Monday.
Ms. Hicks, who will work in Los Angeles, was hired alongside Danny O’Brien, who will lead the company’s government relations department.
“Hope and Danny are proven leaders and world-class public affairs professionals,” Fox Chief Legal and Policy Officer Viet Dinh said in a statement. “Together they will define and project Fox’s voice to our relevant communities.”
Fox will be a new company created once the merger between The Walt Disney company and 21st Century Fox merger is completed. The deal did not include the Fox television network, which includes Fox News.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders congratulated Ms. Hicks on her new gig.
“FOX won’t find anyone smarter or more talented than Hope Hicks,” she tweeted. “So happy for you my friend. They are beyond lucky to have you and the East Coast misses you already.”
