The American Bar Association informed the Senate Judiciary Committee that they are reevaluating Judge Kavanaugh’s fitness to serve on Friday, just before the first key vote on his nomination to the Supreme Court.

“New information of a material nature regarding temperament during the September 27th hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee has promoted a reopening of the Standing Committee’s evaluation,” Chairman Paul Moxley wrote.

Mr. Moxley noted that the new evaluation is not expected to be finalized before the Senate’s scheduled vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

In the meantime, the ABA’s “well qualified” rating still stands for the nominee.
