GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say an explosion at a remote oil well site in northeast Wyoming has injured three workers.

The Gillette News Record reports that the incident occurred about 10:50 a.m. Thursday inside a well building northeast of the Cordero Rojo coal mine in Campbell County.

Campbell County Health spokeswoman Karen Clarke says the injured workers were contractors for Devon Energy.

Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds says a 33-year-old man was severely hurt, with cuts on his leg and arm that left his bones exposed.

Clarke says the man is in good condition at an area hospital.

The other two employees at the site, a 28-year-old man and a 40-year-old man, had less severe injuries.

Devon Energy spokesman John Porretto says the incident is under investigation and no other information was being released.
