MADRID (AP) - Real Betis veteran Joaquin Sanchez posted a joke Instagram video on Thursday, asking Spain coach Luis Enrique why he had not been included in the national squad.

The 37-year-old midfielder has won more than 50 caps, but has not played for his country since 2007.

“I have two missed calls here and I don’t know if they are from you or not?” Sanchez asked. “Please call me. I’m worried.”

He also showed an empty hanger in reference to the way Luis Enrique announced his squad for the away friendly against Wales on Oct. 11 and the home UEFA Nations League game with England four days later, picking up the jerseys of the players who made his list and hanging them in the changing room.

“I have the hanger here, but where’s the jersey, man?” he said, laughing.

News of the post quickly got to the Spain coach.

“I just saw the video,” Luis Enrique said with a smile during a news conference. “He is actually playing at a good level. He could be here, definitely, and if he was, we would all be having a much better time, for sure.”

Sanchez is renowned for his playful demeanor and has previously represented Valencia, Malaga and Italian club Fiorentina.
