WOODBURY, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police investigators say human remains were found in adjoining Woodbury homes that were both on fire.
Woodbury firefighters were called to a home on Bliss Road late Tuesday after receiving a report that a house was fully engulfed in flames.
While attempting to extinguish that fire, firefighters notice a second home about 150 feet away was also on fire.
The fire crews discovered human remains in the first house. In the second house, they found human and pet remains.
Investigators are now working to identify the people who lived in the homes, the deceased victims and determine the cause of the fires.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call the state police in Middlesex.
