ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Roanoke College has raised more than $204 million in a five-year campaign that transformed its campus.
The school said its “Roanoke Rising Campaign” concluded last week as the largest in its 176-year history. The campaign began in April 2013.
More than 28,000 donors contributed. Alumni made up more than 40 percent of the donors, with 26 percent coming from parents of Roanoke students. The remainder came from corporations, foundations and friends of the college.
The campaign funded a new athletic and academic complex, which opened in 2016. It includes a performance gymnasium, a 200-meter indoor track, an athletic training clinic and the Health and Human Performance Department.
Roanoke’s academic offerings were also expanded during the campaign, with four new majors created, along with nine new minors and concentrations.
