NEW YORK (AP) - A low-grade tornado has struck Fishers Island, at the eastern end of the Long Island Sound.

The National Weather Service says the EF0 tornado brought winds of between 65 and 85 miles-per-hour at about 7:30 a.m. Monday. EF0 is the lowest grade.

It says the tornado started as a waterspout before moving onto shore, knocking down trees, power lines and moving some small buildings off their foundations for a 2-mile stretch before moving back offshore.

According to Newsday , no fatalities were reported. It wasn’t clear yet if there were any injuries.

It’s the second tornado to hit Suffolk County this month. On Oct. 4, a tornado swept through the Ronkonkoma neighborhood with 85-mph winds.
