Hillary Clinton has gone on Twitter to endorse Democrat Mark Begich in the Alaska governor’s race.
The support for Begich was among a number of endorsements that the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee announced on Monday.
The endorsement also comes days after President Donald Trump announced, also via Twitter, his endorsement of Republican Mike Dunleavy in the race.
Trump was elected in 2016 and carried Alaska. He won the state with 51 percent of the vote. Clinton finished second, with nearly 37 percent.

The Democratic Governors Association is jumping into the Alaska governor’s race.
The organization announced Monday that it is backing a third-party group named Defeat Dunleavy, which will begin airing a TV ad that hits at Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Dunleavy.
Defeat Dunleavy registered with the Alaska Public Offices Commission Monday.
The governor’s race shifted earlier this month, when incumbent Gov. Bill Walker said he was ending his campaign. Walker said he concluded he could not win against Dunleavy and Democrat Mark Begich, the two major candidates in the race. And he said he thought Begich would be better for Alaska than Dunleavy.
The Republican Governors Association has been major donor of Families for Alaska’s Future-Dunleavy. Records show the RGA has donated $2.7 million to the group, which supports Dunleavy.

The group’s website includes audio of Wielechowski saying he likes Dunleavy.
Wielechowski says he likes Dunleavy on a personal level but disagrees with many of his policies.

Dunleavy for Alaska was reviewing Wielechowski’s complaint.
Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii stands behind an ad supporting Begich that mentions Gov. Bill Walker. Walker ended his campaign and said Begich would be better than Dunleavy.
