MACON, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia sheriff says two Family Dollar stores in the city of Macon were robbed back-to-back over the weekend, possibly by different culprits.
The Macon Telegraph reports stores located roughly 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) apart were robbed by armed men late Sunday within the same hour.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that two men took part in the robberies at each store. But they were described as wearing different clothing and using different weapons, leading investigators to suspect the crime may have been committed by different people.
In one robbery, authorities described the suspects as both wielding handguns. In the other, one had a shotgun and the other a handgun.
The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register at each store.
