TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Justin McMillan scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 39-yard keeper with 3:46 left and Tulane beat Tulsa 24-17 on Saturday night.
The Green Wave (3-5, 2-2 American) held Tulsa short on a fourth-and-18 with 1:23 remaining and were able to run out the clock from there.
Tulane trailed by 10 in the middle of the third quarter when Corey Dauphine’s 51-yard run set up McMillian’s 1-yard TD keeper three plays later. Dauphine finished with 107 yards rushing on 18 carries.
On their next possession, the Green Wave ran 10 plays for 52 yards capped by Merek Glover’s 20-yard field goal to tie it at 17.
Tulsa (1-7, 0-4) opened with a 10-0 lead and led 17-7 on Keylon Stokes’ 14-yard run in the middle of the third. But the late collapse extended the Golden Hurricane’s losing streak against FBS opponents to 12.
