“Megyn Kelly Today” is over for good, NBC announced Friday.
The network said the 9 a.m. daytime talk show hosted by Ms. Kelly would not be returning to air, and that “Today” anchors would fill the slot for the time being.
Ms. Kelly’s attorney said in a statement that the former Fox News prime-time star “remains an employee of NBC News and discussions about next steps are continuing.”
The news comes the same week Ms. Kelly was prompted to apologize on air for comments she made about blackface Halloween costumes, which critics, including some of her NBC colleagues, deemed culturally insensitive.
Discussions about Ms. Kelly’s future at NBC reportedly predated the blackface controversy.
