Radio host Rush Limbaugh says news outlets like CNN seem to care more about writing outlandish chyron graphics tying President Trump to a mail bomber than in the pursuit of the perpetrator.
The man behind the “Golden EIB” microphone used a segment on his Thursday show to slam CNN for a recent chyron, which read: “Manhunt for serial bomber going after Trump targets.” The conservative talker said the network’s reporting, along with the rest of the “Drive-By Media,” highlights a double standard regarding reckless speculation.
“They are trying to pass responsibility of this off to Donald Trump and then trying to get us to shut up in response and in opposition to it,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “We’re supposed to have sit here and say, ’Oh, no, no, no, no, had no.’ Until we know the facts, we can’t comment while they comment left and right and start ragging on Trump or his supporters or what have you, while we’re supposed to shirt and be polite and have good manners and not say anything about it.”
FBI agents are investigating a number of mail bombs that were sent to former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, CNN, billionaire liberal donor George Soros and others.
“They’ve been running this all morning, the chyron graphic at the bottom, whatever else is on the screen, ’Ten Packages Sent to Trump Targets,’ and then it lists the names,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “Trump targets! CNN’s preaching we’re not to be talking about who did this because we don’t have the facts, and yet you think this is not telling us who they think did it?”
“Have you ever seen the media less interested in finding out who the perp is?” he continued. “If you watch this carefully, you don’t see a lot of curiosity about that, just the fact that they can do banner headlines. ’Trump Targets Receive Bombs,’ or whatever it is, is plenty enough for them. … They’re dumbing everything down that they cover.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray has asked anyone who thinks they might have a tip to contact the agency.
“Do not hesitate to call; no piece of information is too small to help us in this investigation,” he said in a statement released Wednesday.
Mr. Trump has vowed to use the “full weight of our government” to identify and apprehend suspects.
