Megyn Kelly is officially done at NBC on Thursday after a facing a surge of backlash over her comments on blackface in a recent episode, according to multiple media reports.

Though Ms. Kelly is through with the network, it will still have to pay out the rest of her $69 million contract.

On Tuesday, Ms. Kelly made controversial remarks about blackface during a Halloween panel.

“But what is racist? You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on white face for Halloween,” she said, “That was OK when I was a kid, as long as you were dressing like a character.”

The next day, Ms. Kelly apologized for her comments on air, telling her viewers that “the history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep.”

Rumors swirled Thursday morning when “Megyn Kelly Today” aired a re-run that after just about a year with NBC Ms. Kelly would be shown the door. Now it appears the rumors were true.
