BOSTON (AP) - The state attorney general’s office will review a state report that alleged fired Environmental Police Col. James McGinn fixed a pair of tickets and used state funds to spy on other officers.
A spokeswoman for the office tells The Boston Globe the report raises “serious concerns.”
McGinn, a former state police sergeant who also served as Gov. Charlie Baker’s personal campaign driver, was fired Friday when the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, which oversees the agency, released a report outlining findings of an internal probe.
The report alleged McGinn fixed two traffic tickets and used state funds to install unauthorized surveillance cameras to monitor workers.
McGinn’s attorney said his client “adamantly denies” fixing tickets and the surveillance efforts were done with proper approval.
He called the firing “politically motivated.”
