President Trump’s re-election campaign will spend $6 million on advertising for Republican candidates nationwide in the final week of the midterm elections, his campaign manager said Tuesday, with the president hosting at least 10 more rallies before Nov. 6.
The blitz of national TV and digital advertising will launch on Monday, said Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale.
The campaign also is making a direct transfer of $3 million to the Republican National Committee to help in the final two weeks of campaigning nationwide. In August, Mr. Trump’s campaign contributed a total of $214,000 to 107 House and Senate campaigns.
“President Trump is all-in for the midterms to lead the GOP to victory on Election Day,” Mr. Parscale said. “His winning spirit is energizing Americans across the country to get out the vote and keep the momentum of our America First agenda going strong.”
Since July 5, Mr. Trump has hosted 20 campaign rallies. His campaign expects to spend $20 million overall this year to help elect Republican candidates.
Mr. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence also have attended dozens of Republican fundraisers this year.
“With so much at stake in the midterms, we’re leaving everything on the field to build on our incredible progress for the American people,” said Lara Trump, senior adviser to the Trump campaign and the president’s daughter-in-law.
She said the president “is counting on voters to be all-in” for his agenda on Election Day.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Mr. Trump “energizes our base like no one else.”
“The overwhelming amount of time and money he’s spending is fueling grassroots enthusiasm for all of our candidates,” she said. “That support has enabled the RNC to build our largest field program ever to get out the vote and defy history on Election Day.”
With rare exceptions, the party that holds the White House usually loses seats in Congress in the midterm elections.
