HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont says about a dozen Connecticut business executives, including several CEOs, have so far agreed to sit on his proposed advisory board if he wins in November.
The Greenwich businessman’s list of charter members, released Tuesday, includes CEOs of Travelers Insurance and Bigelow Tea, the founder of RJ Julia Books and the chairwoman of PepsiCo.
Lamont, who founded a cable company, has held discussions in recent months with 60 leaders of prominent Connecticut companies about how to grow jobs in the state.
His proposed Business Advisory Council would advise the state’s Department of Education and Community Development.
Lamont’s campaign says additional business executives have indicated they’ll join after the election.
Lamont is running against fellow businessman Bob Stefanowski and former banker and business advocate Oz Griebel.
