President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet at the G-20 summit in November, Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow confirmed on Tuesday.
Mr. Kudlow did not reveal any details about the meeting, which many were unsure would actually take place, but told reporters outside the White House that both world leaders will meet in Argentina.
The meeting between Mr. Trump and Mr. Xi comes as trade tensions continue to worsen between the two economic rivals.
The Trump administration’s top economic advisor complained that China has not been responsive to U.S. complaints. He specifically mentioned technology transfers, IP theft, and cybersecurity as key issues that need to be addressed.
“Our asks are on the table, I’d love to see them respond. Thus far they haven’t,” Mr. Kudlow said.
