The Washington Capitals spent a day off in Canada putting away their hockey sticks and engaging in the perfectly safe sport of ax throwing.
Videos on social media, some filmed by Tom Wilson, showed members of the Capitals taking part of the sport, which is growing in popularity in Canada as well as the U.S. The participants all wore plaid flannel shirts and ballcaps.
