GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina hot dog eatery is relishing over a $10,000 tip left by a YouTube star, all in exchange for two glasses of water.
Sup Dogs owner Brett Oliverio tells news outlets a man later identified as Mr. Beast walked in Saturday and took a few sips of water before departing, leaving behind cash and a thank-you note for “the delicious water.”
The server, East Carolina University student Alaina Custer, says there were two men at another table watching her reaction and filming. When she asked them if they knew what was happening, they told her to subscribe to Mr. Beast’s channel.
Custer kept $800, splitting the rest with her coworkers.
Mr. Beast has nearly 9 million subscribers to his YouTube channel. Footage from Saturday hasn’t yet been posted.
