North and South Korea and the U.S.-led United Nations Command agreed Monday to pull weapons and guard posts from the demilitarized zone by the end of this week, Reuters reported.
All three parties reportedly agreed to cut their personnel down to 35 and remove all guns and 11 guard posts from the border by Thursday. Over the next two days, they will conduct a joint inspection.
They also agreed to end “all hostile acts” and impose a no-fly zone in the demilitarized zone.
Scaling down on weapons and personnel comes as North and South Korea relations continue to improve. The neighboring nations have been locked in a truce since 1953, which means they are technically still at war with each other.
