WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Authorities say a motorcyclist has been killed after he was struck by a bus turning a corner.
Delaware trooper Master Cpl Melissa Jaffe tells The News Journal of Wilmington that a DART bus appeared to turn into the path of the 62-year-old motorcyclist.
The bus driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The newspaper reports that there were no passengers aboard the DART bus during the head-on collision.
The intersection where the fatal crash occurred Friday was closed for roughly four hours.
Authorities did not immediately release the name of the dead man as they work on contacting his relatives.
