NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) - An Atlanta man accused of causing a crash that killed a single mother of five has been indicted.

Coweta County District Attorney Herb Cranford tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that 44-year-old Juan Roberto Marquez was charged with vehicular homicide and reckless driving in the August 2017 crash that killed 32-year-old Jessica Jose.

Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson has said that Marquez pulled in front of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 85 and stopped his vehicle to consult with the driver of a semi-truck. Jose’s SUV slammed into the back of the truck, and she died at the scene.

Marquez’s attorney has told a judge the father of six hasn’t been able to work since the crash.
