LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Gov. Rick Snyder has appointed seven current or former top administration officials to serve on university boards.

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley and lobbyist Dennis Muchmore, Snyder’s former chief of staff, were named to Oakland University’s board Friday. Senior adviser Richard Baird will join Eastern Michigan’s board.

Snyder appointed chief legal counsel Travis Weber to Northern Michigan’s board, and licensing and regulatory affairs director Shelly Edgerton and former cabinet member David Behen to Western Michigan’s board. Snyder deputy chief of staff Elizabeth Emmitt was appointed to Grand Valley State’s board.

The positions are unpaid. The appointees are subject to Senate advice and consent.

Snyder, who’s in his final months in office, also named two Lansing lobbyists to university boards and appointed natural resources director Keith Creagh to the Natural Resources Commission.
