NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 49-year-old Sheyenne man who was killed when his pickup collided with a freight train in north-central North Dakota.

The Highway Patrol says the crash happened late Tuesday, eight miles west of New Rockford in Eddy County.

In a statement Friday, the Highway Patrol says Kurt Anderson was crossing the railroad tracks when his pickup was struck on the driver’s side by an eastbound BNSF train. He died at the scene. No one on the train was hurt.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating.
