BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Burlington officials have released three design proposals for Memorial Auditorium based on input from residents and businesses.

The Burlington Free Press reports the city’s Community and Economic Development Office will likely combine the proposals in the auditorium’s final design with the goal of putting the revitalization project on the Town Meeting Day ballot in March.

The first proposal involves transforming the historic building into a farmers market, community kitchen and a street-facing cafe.

Another proposal would make music a focus, and it would add a rehearsal space, public lounge and a youth-led music area.

The third proposal would add an arts and crafts market, dance studio and a gallery.

CEDO policy specialist Will Clavelle said Wednesday repairs to the building alone will cost between $5 million and $6 million.
