PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices in Rhode Island continue to hold steady.
For the second week in a row, AAA Northeast’s survey of Rhode Island gas prices released Monday shows no change in the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular.
The per gallon price of $2.84 is a nickel lower than the current national average, but 24 cents per gallon higher than the Rhode Island average a year ago.
AAA found 40-cent range, from a low of $2.69 to a high of $3.09.
A spokesman for AAA says consumer demand for gasoline across the country has declined for a third consecutive week, signaling that they are taking a turn toward slowly decreasing.
