Georgetown University professor Michael Eric Dyson says support for President Trump by black Americans like Kanye West is a form of “white supremacy by ventriloquism.”
Thursday’s meeting between NFL Legend Jim Brown, entertainer Kanye West and the commander in chief left Mr. Dyson livid over the “nefarious practices” on display.
The comment came after a baseless claim by “The Beat” host Ari Melber that Mr. Trump offered “support of white supremacy.”
“This is white supremacy by ventriloquism,” responded Mr. Dyson, the media watchdog NewsBusters reported. “A black mouth is moving, but white racist ideals are flowing from Kanye West’s mouth. Kanye West is engaging in one of the most nefarious practices yet. A black body and brain are the warehouse for the articulation and expression of anti-black sentiment that have been chin-checked by people with people with far more rigorous credentials.”
Mr. Dyson, who once likened police officers to the terror group ISIS and claimed that bat-wielding Antifa members are attempting to “preserve the fabric of America,” added that Mr. West’s position is a “real tragedy,” given his artistic talent.
At issue for critics of Mr. West’s visit was his assertion that liberals “will try and control a black person through the concept or racism” to maintain a kind of ideological subservience.

“[Liberals] know that we are very proud, emotional people,” he told reporters. “So when I say I like Trump to someone that’s liberal they’ll say, ’oh, but he’s racist.’”
