PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The organizers of a job fair hope to get jobs for people in recovery from substance abuse.

The day-long Thursday fair at Portland Expo will feature at least 25 employers.

Jobseekers at the Southern Maine Recovery Workforce Initiative can also access resume and interview workshops and a closet of donated business-casual clothes.

ENSO Recovery CEO and founder Tim Cheney tells the Portland Press Herald that the surrounding community has a role in sustaining the stability of people in recovery by providing steady, rewarding employment.

Cheney says individuals living with substance use may have a criminal record or employment history that makes it hard for them to seek jobs.

Cheney says he aims to host more job fairs.
