Kanye West has a new enemy: Captain America.

Chris Evans ripped into one of the entertainment industry’s most famous pro-Trump celebrities this weekend over a “terrifying” and “retrogressive” message.

“There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as virtue,” the Marvel Studios star told his nearly 10 million Twitter followers. “The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying.”

At issue was Mr. West’s assertion that his “Make America Great Again” hat “represents good and America becoming whole again.”

“We will no longer outsource to other countries We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love,” he tweeted.

“The 13th Amendment is slavery in disguise meaning it never ended We are the solution that heals,” added for clarification afterward.

Mr. West also captured national headlines over the weekend with an appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in which he told audience members of a “Democratic plan” to destroy black families.

“Black man in America, supposed to keep what you’re feeling inside right now,” he said. “All those Democrats. You know, it’s like the plan they did to take their fathers out the home and promote welfare. Does anybody know about that?”

Mr. Evans, a longtime critic of the Trump administration, previously told Esquire that he feels “rage” whenever he thinks about Mr. Trump’s election.

“I feel fury,” he told the magazine for an interview in March. “It’s unbelievable. People were just so desperate to hear someone say that someone is to blame. They were just so happy to hear that someone was angry. Hear someone say that Washington sucks. “
