Lana Del Rey slammed Kanye West over his vocal support of President Trump on Sunday, saying it was a “loss for the culture.”
Ms. Del Rey left the message in response to a photo Mr. West put on Instagram, showing off his MAGA hat. In his caption, he said the hat represents “American becoming whole again.”
He called for more American jobs and said, “We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment.”
The 13 Amendment abolished slavery.
“I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level,” she wrote. Delusions of grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism — none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country.”
She also argued that both Mr. West and Mr. Trump need an intervention, if he could still back the president despite the comments captured on the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape.
The backlash came after Mr. West performed on “Saturday Night Live,” and a video of his post-show pro-Trump speech went viral.
“There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ’How could you like Trump? He’s racist,’ ” Mr. West said on Saturday. “Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism, I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”
Mr. West also said he was “bullied” about his MAGA hat while backstage at SNL.
Mr. Trump praised Mr. West on Twitter Sunday afternoon, while criticizing SNL as a Democratic “political ad.”
Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) - no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!
