BOSTON (AP) - State police say a bicyclist has been struck and killed by a dump truck near the Museum of Science in Cambridge, right at the Boston line.

Police say the 24-year-old cyclist from Cambridge was struck on Monsignor O’Brien Highway at about 8:15 a.m. Friday.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His identity has not been made public.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the truck and bike were stopped at the intersection of Museum Way and O’Brien Highway, both waiting to take a right turn. When the truck and bicyclist began to make their right turn, the bicyclist was struck by a truck’s tire.

The death remains under investigation.
