LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt has rallied with supporters one last time ahead of Election Day, urging them to encourage others to vote Tuesday.
Laxalt told the group gathered Monday in Las Vegas that winning the race against Democratic candidate Steve Sisolak could come down to a 500-vote difference.
Laxalt has been the state’s attorney general since 2015. Sisolak is the chairman of the Clark County Commission, which oversees the Las Vegas Strip.
Laxalt repeated his promise to keep the state from resembling liberal California. Without mentioning Sisolak by name, Laxalt portrayed him as a supporter of higher taxes and sanctuary cities.
Laxalt says his battle against Sisolak is the “race for the future of Nevada.” Laxalt also promised to reduce regulations, “fix” the state’s education system and support veterans.
