PGA Tour golfer Bryson DeChambeau had a heck of a weekend in Las Vegas.

In town to play in the city’s fall season event, the Shriners Hospitals for Children’s Open, DeChambeau was also invited to be a guest at a Vegas Golden Knights hockey game Saturday night and “ring the siren” to open the third period.

ESPN’s Bob Harig reported that in doing so, DeChambeau gave himself a painful blister on his right hand.

“I was freaking out. I ripped part of my hand off,” DeChambeau said Sunday, with the sarcastic tag, “which is nice.”

Yet DeChambeau went out and shot a final-round 66 to win the tournament by one stroke, his fifth career PGA Tour win. He joked later that it only hurt “on every shot.”
