Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said her home was damaged, but her family escaped injury in Friday’s major 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck near Anchorage, Alaska.

“Our family is intact - house is not…So thankful to be safe; praying for our state following the earthquake,” Mrs. Palin tweeted.

The former GOP vice presidential nominee lives in Wasilla, Alaska, about 45 miles north of Anchorage.
