MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Another fire has broken out at a large homeless encampment in Minneapolis.

Authorities say the fire Friday morning involved six tents. There are no reports of injuries. Fire officials say there were reports of propane cylinders exploding before firefighters arrived.

It’s the second fire involving numerous tents at the encampment in 10 days. The cause has not yet been determined.

Despite growing safety concerns in the camp, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says the city won’t shut it down until a new temporary center opens up a few blocks away that would provide 120 beds inside heated tents.

As many as 300 people have lived at the homeless camp in south Minneapolis.
