BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont veteran who says his “Trump 2020” flag was torn down from in front of his house and burned is getting a new flag courtesy of the president’s son Eric.
Gus Klein says he found his destroyed flag Sunday on the front porch of his Burlington home. There’s no word on whether police are investigating.
On Wednesday, Eric Trump tweeted a message to Klein: “Gus, Thank you so much for the support and thank you for your service to our country! Get us your address - a new Trump 2020 Flag will be coming your way! Keep up the fight.”
Several hours later, Eric Trump tweeted again: “Update: Gus - Your replacement flag is in the mail.” Trump then promised to send as many replacement flags as Klein needs.
