THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Jeremiah Jefferson scored 21 points as Nicholls played a home game for the first time in 22 days, turning away Division II Spring Hill, 85-65 on Wednesday night.
The Colonels won back-to-back games to claim a fifth-place finish at the Emerald Coast Classic, knocking off North Carolina Central and beating Western Michigan in overtime.
Spring Hill got off to a strong start and held a 39-35 lead at intermission. Daniel Regis dunked to put the Colonels ahead for good, 46-45 with 16:38 left in the game.
A graduate transfer, Jefferson scored 20 points or more for the fifth time for Nicholls (5-4). Kevin Johnson added 17 points and Brandon Moore Jr. and Regis each pulled down 10 rebounds. Regis, who averages just under three blocked shots per game, had two against the Badgers.
Justin Allison scored 14 points to lead Spring Hill.
